Budget Update: Curriculum Enhancement Grants - June 20, 2008 Return to Top of Page
The changing needs of the school district are of key importance in allocating BSF funds for the coming year. After careful consideration, the curriculum grants are being temporarily suspended in order to meet high priority needs within the district.

At their annual meeting on June 13, 2008, Bellevue Schools Foundation Trustees approved the budget for the 2008-2009 school year. Spending in the budget is spread among the areas of Academic Rigor, Student Support, and Teacher Support.

In 2008-09 BSF will raise $1.4 million to help fund the best possible learning opportunities for all Bellevue students. Funding will focus on:
  • Math on the elementary level
  • Science on the middle and high school level
  • Bridging the Achievement Gap grants for struggling students
  • National Board Certification
  • support for teachers

In order to accomplish these goals, Curriculum Enhancement Grants are temporarily suspended.

The BSF Board of Trustees works with the school district to identify key projects that need outside funding. While we invest in all three areas (Academic Rigor, Student Support, Teacher Support), there is no hard-and-fast rule for assigning financial support. The needs of the school district are of primary importance in allocating BSF's funds.

Our goal is to raise $1.4 million to support the Bellevue School District, its students, and its teachers. These funds will be raised from our community over the next 12 months.

Together, our efforts will ensure our students are well-prepared for the challenges ahead.

If you have additional questions, please contact the BSF office at 425.456.4199, or via email info@bsfdn.org.

Thank you for your ongoing support of BSF and the students in the Bellevue School District.
