Volunteers are a vital part of the Bellevue Schools Foundation. Each year hundreds of dedicated people volunteer for BSF. Their time and skills help create more effective
learning for kids. For ways you can help, look at the following examples of volunteer positions.

Mentoring/Tutoring (VIBES) Volunteer
- Description: Volunteers assist in a wide range of activities from one-on-one mentoring/tutoring to
classroom assistants in math, literacy, science, technology and other academic areas. Supervised by the
staff in a school setting.
- Skills Needed: Patience, flexibility, ability to relate to students.
- Time Commitment: Screening and orientation - 1-1/2 hours. Volunteer a minimum of one hour a week
during the school year.
- Offers orientation four times a month during the school year.

Spring For Schools
Save the date! - June 4, 2009
Description: A benefit luncheon for the business community. Held on the first Thursday in June at Meydenbauer Center. Features
speakers (students, teachers, and volunteers) who have benefited from BSF programs.
1. Spring for Schools Committee Member
- Description: Help plan event and its program
- Skills Needed: Planning, leadership and organizational skills
- Time Commitment: One hour committee meetings monthly, January through June. Preparation time as needed.

2. Spring for Schools Event Volunteer
- Description: Help with registration and set-up on the morning of the event
- Skills Needed: Organization, accuracy, coordination
- Time Commitment: Two hours once a year

3. Spring for Schools Clerical Follow-up
- Description: Address and process thank-you notes to donors for bulk mailing
- Skills Needed: Attention to detail
- Time Commitment: Two hours once a year

The BSF Newsletter is published three times a year. It features articles about BSF volunteers, donors, programs,
and grants.
1. Newsletter Reporter
- Description: Write articles about BSF programs, events and volunteers
- Skills Needed: Good writing and communication skills, knowledge of BSF programs
- Time Commitment: Four to six hours three times a year

2. Newsletter Bulk Mail
- Description: Help label, bundle, and deliver newsletters to post office
- Skills Needed: Attention to detail, patience
- Time Commitment: Two hours three times a year

1. Data-entry Specialist
- Description: Help make entries to database after fundraising events
- Skills Needed: Good computer and keyboarding skills, attention to detail
- Time Commitment: Two to four days twice a year

2. Office Generalist
- Description: Help prepare mailings, deliver items to schools, telephone trustees and other volunteers, and provide help with miscellaneous office tasks during the
